DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Consistently voted one of Asia’s top three hotels, The Oberoi Rajvilas is a luxury royal resort exquisitely landscaped over 32 acres. It’s the definition of tranquility. The grounds are home to exotic birdlife, native flowers and an 18th century Shiva temple where guests can chant, meditate and practice yoga.
The resort is coloured with the same traditional techniques as neighbouring Jaipur, the Pink City. There is a colonial elegance to its interiors, with Mughal arches, gold-leaf frescos and crystal chandeliers. And it has service to match: attentive, but never imposing
The rooms, which are either air-conditioned safari tents or luxury villas, are clustered round small, private courtyards. There’s a choice of fine international or specialty Indian dining, either inside or outside under cover. Finally, the Library Bar is a wonderful way to end the day with a cocktail or malt.
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT THE HOTEL
- Splendid serenity. Where else can you have an Ayurvedic treatment or massage in an 18th century mansion then step out into an oasis of indigenous greenery?
- Princely pampering. The resort is unashamedly regal in its luxury: its fort setting could be home to a Maharaja and its style and service wouldn’t seem out of place.
- Perfectly positioned. Jaipur is one of India’s most fascinating cities. Its fortresses, palaces, temples and havelis reflect its growth as the capital of Rajasthan. Exploring them is straightforward from the Oberoi Rajvilas.

ROOMS & SUITES
Total number of rooms: 67
Total number of suites: 4
Number of floors: 1
Forget all your preconceptions about a night under canvas. Opt for a safari tent and it will air-conditioned and decorated with traditional hand-block printing and tassles. The Royal ones echo the stately caravans that criss-crossed the Rajastani desert during the Raj. Choose a room or villa instead and you can be sure of a four-poster bed and cool, calm space to end and begin the day. Furnished with raw silk, organza and traditional wall frescoes, Luxury Villas are true to their name, but it is the Kohinoor Villa that really impresses. Set over more than 1000 square feet, this includes a 20-metre swimming pool, a private dining pavilion, and a master bedroom and bathroom in its own building
