3. The Hammam. If Turkey gave the world the hammam, the Çırağan Palace perfected it. The stunning spa lobby includes carved marble floors, walls and railings.

Whether in the original palace building or in a late 20^th century extension, all 313 rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and every contemporary comfort. The Sultan Suite is the jewel in the crown. With magnificent views over the Bosphorus, a dining area for 12 and two bedrooms, it is one of the largest suites in Europe.
